Justice Richard Lussick Becomes the New Presiding Judge in the Charles Taylor Trial

With effect from Monday January 19, 2009, Justice Richard Lussick would take over as Presiding Judge of Trial Chamber 2, presiding over the trial of Charles Taylor. This was disclosed at the end of proceedings on Friday January 16, 2009 by Presiding Judge Teresa Doherty, who has served in that position for the past year.. The three judges of the trial chamber rotate the position of Presiding Judge of the chamber on one year basis. Justice Lussick would therefore serve as Presiding Judge of the Trial Chamber for the whole of 2009.
