  1. I am a Sierra Leonean. The war from Liberia forced me to cross over to Liberia. All my relatives were affected in Kono District. Liberia is now my home. I am glad to have found this information on the web to keep me in touch.
Thank you for keeping the public informed.

  2. I don’t know why the trial dates keep being postponed. The trial must go on uninterrupted to justice can take its course. Is Taylor trying to buy the ICC?

  3. I could not follow details of Taylor’s court case but in the countryside of Liberia I heard terrible stories from people who were there when it happened. How people were murdered, child soldiers, and so on. In Sierra Leone, I visited and heard stories about the diamond mines. This morning a friend told me how his father was murdered in front of his eyes when he was a kid. Because they didn’t like his looks! All this happened when Taylor was in charge, and indeed Taylor is the one who is always mentioned by the people.

One can discuss USA, Britain, where judges come from, who should judge and accomplishes, but the bottom line here is that when Taylor had the power, he could have done differently irregardless of other factors. Instead, Taylor did not only choose to act like some other leaders, he became evil. He was responsible, directly and indirectly, for the killing and damaging of numerous persons in Liberia and Sierra Leone. Whoever doubts this should not only rely on what politicians and lawyers say, but should travel these countries and talk with others and especially with common people in the towns and the countryside. The truth of what happened and the extend of the horror Taylor was responsible for, will become clear quickly.

Justice has to be done and it has to be done quickly. Taylor has been found guilty a long time ago by all his victims, dead or alive. The longer his case drags on, the longer victims have to agonize whether he will be found guilty in court as well and whether justice is finally been done.

    1. Abu Bakr,

If all these things you said are true. My question to you is how come the Liberian population gave him over 80% of the vote when he ran for president of Liberia? Remember it takes two sides to fight a war. Lastly, it is unfortunate you did not follow the Prosecution case . You would then realize how weak the evidence presented against Mr. Taylor was.

  4. I am a liberian from lofa county presently, in Australia. My question is when will the international criminal court stop dragging the execution of Taylor? Because the man is already guilty or do th ICC want their share in the diamond? I want to hear something else different from trial ,enough is enough or we the victims will take justice to Taylor in the hague.

  5. Mr. Bakr, No one is saying that these things did not happen in Sierra Leone. However if you take a look a past and present wars these things also happen. These things will happen in future wars. War is not a good thing to turn too as a quick solution.
